Adele P. Boyd, Director, joined the William Jeanes Memorial Library Board of Directors in January 2006.

Adele has lived in Whitemarsh Township since 1961. She was an English and PE teacher at Cheltenham HS for fourteen years, and also coached field hockey, basketball, lacrosse and softball. She went on to teach and coach at Ursinus College, attaining the rank of Professor and Associate Athletic Director, retiring in 1999. Adele coached the varsity field hockey team to three consecutive Division 1 national championship appearances, and organized international tours with teams to South Africa, Great Britain, Holland, Ireland and New Zealand.
As an athlete, Adele represented the United States in field hockey for seven years, captaining the team for several of those years. She was also an internationally rated umpire in field hockey and lacrosse. She still regularly plays competitive tennis, representing the Philadelphia Cricket Club.
Adele is the recipient of many athletic, educational, service and alumni awards and honors. A Philadelphia area native, she holds a B.S. from Ursinus College, and an M.Ed. from Temple University.
