Friends of the William Jeanes Library
The Friends of the William Jeanes Library group was established in 1950 and has been a vital force in supplementing the library income since that time. Through the collection of member dues and the profits from semi-annual book sales, the Friends have been able to provide the library with many things. Among these are books, audio and video materials, funds for both children’s and adults' programs, an announcement sign for the front of the library, new carpeting and chairs for the meeting room, shelving, as well as resurfacing the parking lot.
All Whitemarsh residents and library patrons are welcome to join the Friends of the Library. The Board of Directors meets the first Thursday of the month in the Meeting Room at 7:00 PM and holds its annual meeting in March to which the public is invited.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Friends of the William Jeanes Memorial Library is to promote and supplement the services, programs, and facilities of the library through various fundraising and volunteer activities.
