Volunteers
Please consider becoming a library volunteer.
If you are interested in volunteering and helping your library, please read on. Our volunteers range from young teens through all ages of adults. Students in gr. 6-12 are welcome to join the Youth Advisory Board. The desire to help our library is the only requirement to be a volunteer, although there is a limited number of volunteer positions available at any one time.
You may devote as few as 1-2 hours per week or as many as you choose. The choice is dependent upon your hours and schedule, and our needs at the time. We are grateful for your support.
Our volunteer duties are varied, interesting, and some are really enjoyable. To learn more about the opportunities which may be currently available, please contact the library. Our telephone number is (610) 828-0441.
The volunteer activities can include the following:
- Shelving in the adult or children's department
- Shelf-reading (going through the shelves to make sure books are order)
- Assisting the children's librarian with various children's programs including the summer reading club activities
- Hosting a children's program on a craft, hobby, or another special skill
- Hosting an adult program on a craft, trip, life experience, career knowledge, or another topic you would like to share
- Designing and arranging displays and bulletin boards
- Assisting with marketing and public relations programs
- Working on fundraising
- Working as a Friend of the Library on their book sales and other activities
